3 Ways to Tour Pacific Beach
The best way to learn about a vacation destination is to explore its neighborhood and learn about its history. Pacific Beach and its surrounding bay area is beautiful, so it’s well worth setting aside time for a tour of the city. How you get around—by air, by foot, or by bike—is entirely up to you.
See Pacific Beach From the Sky

There’s nothing like seeing Pacific Beach, San Diego, and the surrounding areas from the air. The bird’s-eye view allows you to take in the architecture of the town and the coastline, all while learning about the region’s history. Corporate Helicopters offers helicopter tours of the entire San Diego area, including Pacific Beach. The rides are about half an hour, and in addition to top-notch champagne, you get to enjoy a helicopter flight with a knowledgeable pilot who’s happy to share tidbits about the area. Other companies, such as San Diego Air Tours, give you the option of a longer voyage.
Touring the bay area by seaplane is another option. It’s more expensive than the helicopter rides, but taking off from and landing on the water is a unique experience. How often do you get to do something like that? However you get up in the air, it’s the way adventurers tour new places.
Tour With a Trolley

In the San Francisco Bay Area, trolleys are ubiquitous, but their charm never dims. Trolleys are also a very popular mode of public transportation in the Pacific Beach and San Diego area. These hop-on hop-off excursions allow you to jump off at designated points and walk around an array of neighborhoods. Return to any of the stops and another bright-red trolley picks you up there.
Opt for the two-hour trip, provided you have the time. It’s the best option for fact-hungry travelers and history buffs because you get to see the places mentioned in every story and piece of trivia. San Diego Tour is an affordable pick, as is Old Town Trolley tours.
Explore the City on Two Wheels

Bike and Segway tours are increasingly popular in cities that invite tourists, and Pacific Beach is on board with the trend. In both cases, you join a group of other visitors riding bicycles or controlling Segways. A guide leads you throughout the town’s most notable sites, and you generally have the option to stop and explore a bit along the way. Electric bikes take some of the work out of pedaling, and some companies combine biking and kayaking.
This is an excellent way for active travelers to sightsee outdoors. Keep in mind which tour companies you want to try as you look up hotels in Pacific Beach. The closer the company is to your hotel, the more time you have to devote to adventure and exploration.
Walking tours are always available, or you can opt to guide yourself around town. How do you like to discover a new city?
